It’s not fondue…it’s Swiss gravy
Thanksgiving in Switzerland.
We are celebrating the day having a big layout of holiday fare with our expat friends who came over from Berlin.

Starting about 2k ft below in the valley floor we ended up tracking a light bend to get us here. A great place for a pack lunch then a nice road walk down.
A few hours of travel puts you in a whole different state of mind. It also gets you to Davos, Switzerland and this lovely chalet where we will enjoy the Swiss vibe for a couple of months.
Albir, Spain was a great few weeks and a place we hope to see again very soon. Now it's time for what's next.
For the past few weeks this has been our main activity. No reason to switch gears for another few and then..... who knows.
This beautiful property will carry on without us. Covid delay, a nasty exchange rate, transaction costs and a never ending language barrier proved too much to make this dream a reality. Time to see what will be next - we have no idea.
The weather has been mild and perfect for crops in the field as well as walking the Camino. More flowers are due to arrive soon along with more Pilgrims on their way to Santiago.
No fireworks or bottle rocket fights, but we were able to enjoy an American style hamburger and July 4 festivities with our friends in Spain.
A couple of weeks ago we were able to get on a plane and fly to Spain. The plan is to stay here for a few months and if all goes well, we will be the proud owners of this amazing Casa Rural located on the Camino de Santiago between Leon and Astorga. It’s a quiet, simple life we are looking forward to.
Everything is set for this to be where we reside March - Oct for the next decade or so. Missed it by about three weeks this yr. Thinking positive for spring 2021 and ready to begin the adventure.
Sadly this is not something we were lucky enough to walk into the middle of. This is unfortunate because it would be very cool to see - even cooler for the idiot to join in with his djembe drum.

The view from our place here will definitely be missed - but it’s time to leave Malta and make our way back to The States (via plane).
This is the view from our place in Malta which is our last destination before heading back to The States after nine mos out and about. It's a pretty nice way to end the journey.
In several ways this was a significantly tougher trek than we anticipated. But the reward is a walk into a timeless city along with a fancy certificate that celebrates the accomplishment. Although since wrtiien in Latin it could easily say "you have to be a real idiot to do this when cars and trains have been invented."
In a few days if all goes to plan our walk will finish in Rome with terminus at The Vatican. It's been tougher than expected and feels like a bit of an accomplishment.
The walking has been a bit more difficult than we expected, with a fair amount of up-and-down…but the views speak for themselves.
Sadly we left our Aussie mates in Greece and have made our way to the Tuscan town of Lucca, Italy. The birthplace of Puccini will be the starting point of a walk to Rome - 400km (250 miles). A pretty nice way to end Summer.
Falassarna Beach on the island of Crete has a great vibe and is worth the effort. No doubt this is one to end the season on. Without question Crete overdelivered on all aspects.
